🌳 Tu B’Shvat Seder – What to Bring 🌳
If you cannot get certain items, please know that you are welcome to virtually enjoy All things at the Seder.
🍎 Fruits of the Tree – Four categories based on the Four Worlds —(only need one or two items from each category)
Asiya —Fruits with an inedible outer shell (inside edible) Symbol of protection and hidden sweetness, eg. Almonds, Walnuts, Pistachios, Pomegranate, Citrus fruits —Yezirah – Fruits with a pit or stone (inside inedible) Symbol of inner essence and mystery, eg. Dates, Olive, Cherries, Plums, Avocados —Beriyah Fruits eaten completely (no pit or shell) Symbol of wholeness and integration, eg. Figs, Grapes, Blueberries, Strawberries, Raisins. —Fruit essence (taste or fragrance). Symbol of what is sensed more than eaten, eg. Carob, Cinnamon, Vanilla, Dried citrus peel
🍷 Four Cups – Wine or Juice. —White wine or white grape juice. —Red wine or red grape juice (Both are needed as we move from white → mixed → red, following the seasons from winter to spring.)
🌾 Grains & Species of the Land (Shiv’at HaMinim). Bring any form you like—raw or prepared: Dates, Grapes, Wheat, Barley, Spelt, Oats, Rye, Pomegranates . (Optional forms: bread, crackers, cooked grains, or baked goods.)
🕯️ Optional Ritual Items—Bring any that speak to you: —Candle(s), Small bowl of water, live plant, branch, leaf, seed, or flower, stones, shells, earth’s soil, a pet, friends

The sap is ready to rise and the trees are waking up! Time to awaken our senses and sensitivities to tune in to the arboreal world as we celebrate Tu B’Shevat, the Jewish New Year for Trees. Join us for an afternoon of Jewish nature connection, song, story, tree meeting, ritual and more.
This is a co-created gathering! You are invited to bring a practice, poem, teaching or something else you want to share. Indoor space available in case of rain.
