The Aquarian Minyan meets regularly for musical, embodied, interactive Renewal Kabbalat Shabbat services on Friday nights, and Saturday morning Shacharit and Torah Services. Shabbat services are always available on Zoom, and in-person services are generally held once a month in locations across the East Bay and Marin, in members’ homes or community spaces. Imagine living-room Judaism at its finest – hosted and led by inspiring lay-leaders, musicians, singers, rabbis, and emerging spiritual leaders, with lively group discussion of the weekly Parsha.
It’s a little different every time, and that’s part of the magic of it.
This week’s Parsha is Parshas Nitzavim-Vayeilech Deuteronomy 29:9-31:30 | Haftarah is Isaiah 61:10-63:9 | Seventh Haftarah of Consolation
In Nitzavim (“Standing”), Moses addresses the Israelites, emphasizing the importance of following God’s covenant and of not worshiping other gods. He describes the process of repentance and returning to God, and stresses that God’s commandments are achievable and “not in the heavens.”
Vayelekh (“He Went”) opens as Moses tells the people of Israel that he will not lead them into the land of Israel and that Joshua will take over. He instructs the people to gather and read Torah publicly every seven years. At God’s command, Moses writes a poem bearing witness to God’s covenant with the people of Israel. (sourced from Hebcal)
