What’s it like to go Through the Jewish Year with The Aquarian Minyan?

Prayer: Since the beginning of the pandemic, we’ve held weekly Kabbalat Shabbat services on Friday nights at 7pm Pacific Time, and weekly Shabbat Shacharit and Torah Services on Saturdays at 10am, also PST. Check our Shabbat page for links and info!

Community: Monthly events typically include our famous Author Night Series, Poetry Nights, Minyan Sharing led by Marty Potrop, and Shiva Minyans for those in the community as needed, as well as learning opportunities with educators and teachers. We also participate in Community Outreach with The Elders’ Guild and JeWitch Collective. Check our Google Calendar!

Holidays:

The cycle of Sacred Time which is the Jewish Year looks something like this with The Aquarian Minyan:

Slichot – Usually Moetzi Shabbos prior to Rosh HaShanah. We gather together for an approach towards Slichot which incorporates tradition with innovation.

Rosh HaShanah – Erev Rosh HaShanah, First and Second Day

Congregational Tashlish

Days of Awe: Teshuva Nights between Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur

Shabbos Shuva Bonfire with Raja Jeff Haas

Yom Kippur: Erev Yom Kippur/Kol Nidre, Yom Kippur Day Services

Sukkot: It’s a non-stop Ushpizin party! We gather in Open Sukkahs hosted by various members.

Simchat Torah at Kehila with Chochmat HaLev and the East Bay Renewal Community

Chanukkah Nights: We gather to light menorahs and celebrate at different members’ homes.

Tu b’Shevat Seder with Urban Adamah

Purim – Our Ultimate Purim Party and World-Famous Purimschpiel!

Passover: Communal Seder

Pesach Sheni

Lag b’Omer bonfire and gathering with the East Bay community

Yom HaShoah v’HaGevurah campfire with Maggid Jonathan Furst and Shoah survivors

Shavuot at the East Bay JCC with the entire East Bay Jewish Community of every denomination!
