We live in dark times.
We see a rise in anti-semitism, racism, and raging wars.
We are left feeling
scared, anxious, angry and sad.
How can we make a difference?
What can we do?
As Jews we are lucky that once a week for 24 hours
We have Shabbat.
We find inner peace, community, and inspiration.
As we daven and read from the Torah
We uncover hidden meanings and make a connection with Adonai.
As we find inner peace we are enlightened as to our place in the world.
And how we can do Tikkun Olam.
We begin the week with hope.
Each one of us can make a difference individually and as a community.
Shabbat brings us together as one.
As we pray to the one and only God
We are one since we are made in God’s image.
We are powerful as one and can work together
To make change in our community, country, and world.
As the week progresses and our spirits sink with all of the bad news
Shabbat returns.
Once again we can center ourselves, find inner peace, and be hopeful.
