Finding Light

As the days get shorter and shorter and winter sets in We are enveloped in darkness.
In the morning we are teased with a bit of light
That quickly disappears in the late afternoon

Replaced by darkness and cold air.
It is time to hibernate in our homes
as many animals do in their holes or caves.
The sparkling lights everywhere and the candle light
that is part of many winter celebrations bring us hope.
We reach for the light
Bring it inside us and
Warm our being with hope, faith, and love.
When the holiday lights go out and darkness persists
We must find other ways to bring in light.
Engaging in acts of Tikkun Olam, taking care of ourselves, and finding human and spiritual Connection can provide the light we so desperately seek.
During the dark days ahead find the light you need
to keep yourself in a happy and warm space.
As the days slowly start to get longer
We enter a tunnel with light at the end.
Each day we get closer to that light
Until we reach the end of the tunnel
And are enveloped in warmth and light.
