When Things Fall Apart: Presence and Absence of The Feminine Divine with Rabbi Margie Jacobs
When things are falling apart, we may yearn for an omnipotent, omniscient God who will save us. But what if God isn’t all-powerful? What if the Divine is actually at a loss- feeling cast out or traumatized or stuck just as we are? In this series, we’ll explore moments of rupture between the Source of Being and humanity in the Garden of Eden and at SInai, and turn to the Zohar and later Jewish mystical texts to imagine a dynamic, multifaceted, Divine Feminine (Shechinah) whose presence and healing powers are as dependent on us as ours is on them.
