Weekly on Mondays
Jewish prayer practice has a liturgy problem: we have way too much of it. Join Rabbi-Kohenet Sarah Bracha Gershuny in this off-book, in-body exploration of the fundamental dynamics of prayer as a change-making modality. We will make use of overarching Jewish prayer concepts, such as keva and kavana (form and intention), sound as the carrier of spiritual focus, and the use of different body postures in prayer. Primarily, though, these sessions will be a living laboratory. Together as individuals, we will explore the intersection of intention with action, learn to experience authentic inner guidance expressing itself through the somatic field, and cultivate a practice of prayer that actually brings about change.
Rabbi and Kohenet (Hebrew Priestess) Sarah Bracha Gershuny is a writer, ritualist, musician, healer and teacher. Based in Boulder, CO she leads Wellsprings, a community space that hosts independent gatherings for musical prayer, authentic movement and transformative spiritual practice. Rabbi SB has taught for My Jewish Learning, The Romemu Yeshiva and Tamid / Open Circle at Hebrew College, among others. She is on a mission to transform human consciousness through direct divine transmission and fierce joy.
