~ About the Presenters ~
Rabbi Arthur Ocean Waskow
Rabbi Arthur is a world-renowned activist for peace, civil rights and environmental justice. He is the founder and director of The Shalom Center, a prophetic voice in the Jewish, multireligious, and American worlds.
Rabbi Arthur is the author of over 20 books, including the pivotal 1969 Freedom Seder -- a cross-racial gathering of 800 Jews and Christians just one year after the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination.
At age 86, Rabbi Arthur says this visit may be his final public appearance to the Bay Area. Don't miss the opportunity to engage with this legendary teacher-activist.
Reverend Doctor Ambrose Carroll, Sr.
Rev. Dr. Carroll is one of the nation’s premiere Practical Theologians. He is creator of Green the Church campaign to in to engage over 10,000 Black Churches in the climate fight. Dr. Carroll's campaign and Annual Summit promotes Green theology, and is "prodding the flywheel" for sustainable programs to undergird the work of creating green and efficient Church buildings.
Dr. Carroll serves as Senior Pastor/Servant Leader of the Church By the Side of the Road in Berkeley, CA and on the Steering Committee of California Interfaith Power and Light.
Starhawk
Starhawk is an internationally renowned ritualist, author, and activist and a pioneer in the revival of Earth-based spirituality and Goddess religion. She directs Earth Activist Training, teaching permaculture design grounded in spirit with a focus on organizing and activism. Starhawk is also a co-founder in the Reclaiming tradition of magic and activism.
She is the author or coauthor of thirteen books including the classic The Spiral Dance, The Empowerment Manual: A Guide for Collaborative Groups, her visionary novel The Fifth Sacred Thing and its long-awaited sequel, City of Refuge.
